I finally have two more diamond blocks done. I hope you enjoy seeing them.
It has taken me an age this year to settle back into regular CQ stitching as it feels like I have had a stream of little breaks and interruptions that have broken the rhythm of work.
These are light coloured blocks. I am on the homeward stretch with this quilt now.

On the first block I just realised I left off 6 seed beads – as I did not finish the spikes on the double herringbone seam. I have done it now.
For those that it’s an interest to, which I would believe anyone following them, there not boring. I have found them most informative and very interesting, and I like how you have done the layout of each entry. I am glad it’s all in one place to , being able to check back for further ideas, pictures and progress.

As usual, I have whiled away the morning looking at your blocks rather than working on a project, but have had a thoroughly wonderful time too. In relooking at the diamond blocks, I notice a lot of paisly – are these tie silk or other fabrics. Zandra

Only just starting to take more interest in this project of yours, will you be eventually documenting it as you are with your sampler and other quilt? Hope so I think it would be wonderful to read about the stitches, materials etc used.

I love these blocks, Sharon! And I’m all signed up and looking forward to the class next week, too… although technically I STILL don’t have time to be taking classes! and next weekend I’ll be in a bellydance workshop all weekend and nowhere near my studio…

It’s funny…CQ really does benefit from a regular, steady rhythm. And to be honest, I think practicing the CQ art steadies me!

Yes, I really like the shaft of wheat using the pearl beads. It’s a beautiful effect.
These are lovely Sharon and, like Mary, I can’t wait to see the finished piece! I think it’s so wonderful that we can find a way to combine both ‘sane’ and crazy quilting.

Beautiful, Sharon! I love the golds and whites. The wheat shaft with the white beads is ingenious! Really lovely. This is going to be an amazing quilt when it’s finished. I can’t wait to see it all put together! What’s your time frame, do you think, for getting it done? (LOL! That’s the kind of question that deserves a good smack on top of the head, isn’t it?!)
