Here I am frantically waving the last – yes you hear right THE LAST of the diamond blocks!!! I am doing a happy dance around the kitchen – in fact around the whole house. As I said last week, I have been plodding along with these for so long, I am really looking forward to seeing this quilt assembled and finished.
As usual if you click on the images you can go to a larger version.
These are little plain but once set in the and viewed against the more heavily embellished blocks they will act as a little rest for the eye.
Here are all the blocks set out on lounge room floor. As you can see the blocks will be set in a tumbling block pattern. The blocks measure 15 cm (6 inches) across the middle on short crossing and 27 cm (10.5 inches) across the long section.
I plan to document and blog the process of assembling the quilt. So expect a few work in progress reports as I can’t hang about. I want to put it in the Embroiderers’ Guild Exhibition and the form (with description and measurements) is due on the 31st of August. I don’t have to have totally finished until mid September but I do need to have the top done as they need to know the size for the catalogue. So if blogging is a bit slap dash you know why!

Congrats on getting the blocks done. I’ve been following along with you on these since the beginning and love each and every diamond. Thank you also for planning on letting us see how it’s put together — to me that would be as hard as all the embellishing of the blocks.
STUNNING!!! Congrats on the last piece, this is a beautiful treasury of your beautiful needlework 🙂

Great news Sharon. I have logged on from Mongolia for my fix!! I happen to be at a lose end for a few hours and have access to a computer.
Oh WOW. I was wondering what all the blocks would turn into. It is quite impressive laid out on the floor like that.
