Work in Progress Wednesday Block 39 done

Lace Quilt Block 39Block 39 is done. In comparison to block 38, I had much more fun with this block as the colours were more dramatic.

I am more that two thirds of the way through the blocks needed for this quilt. As I said the other week am tiring of the quieter colour scheme. At the moment I am thinking this is the last quilt I will make but then I always  get tired of big projects when I am two thirds to three quarter of the way through. The Diamond quilt was the same. Experienced stitchers know they hit this phase and usually have to push forward to get it done. But inexperienced stitchers often leave off at this point and the projects becomes a UFO  (an UnFinished Object). That is not happening to this project as I am aware it is a case of pushing through to the end.  If you click on the image you will see the completed crazy quilt block larger.

Lace Quilt Block 39 detailI have a detail I thought people might enjoy. I used my CQ stencils for a small daisy motif and love the metal capped beads placed in-between the two detached chain stitches.

Anyway I hope you enjoy seeing this block. You will find all the other blocks in the Lace Quilt category

Work in Progress Wednesday Block 39 started

Lace Quilt Block startIt is work in progress report time again. How did that happen so quickly?

This week I have started in on this block for my lace quilt. This is one of the darkest blocks on the quilt and I have yet to do any embroidery on it. Next week I hope to share what I have done.

Work in Progress Wednesdays (WIP Wednesdays)  is not exactly a challenge as it is more like a support group! The aim is to encourage people to complete  languishing projects or WISPs (Works in Slow Progress) or completing UFOs (unfinished objects) or those in the process of de-stashing.

The idea is, that if you regularly report publicly on a project you are more likely to pick it up and work it a little. Even if it means the project is out and ‘looking at you’ for most stitchers it means they will work it a little. So if you have something you want to share please do!

Work in Progress Wednesday Block 38 done

OK I am late this morning because I have been unwrapping birthday presents. Jerry gave me  a Wacom drawing tablet! I have yet to use it, but I am itching to play with it. Not only that, but we have a cool change and the temperature is comfortable. What more could I want?

Lace Quilt Block 38Anyway back to stitching before I side track myself chattering on about Illustrator and drawing with stylus instead of a mouse – which is what I have done for years.

I want to share my work in progress for this week. I have finished block 38 of my next quilt.  Stitching this block was like pulling teeth, but am am pleased to report it is done so the project has progressed a little more towards completion. Click on the image to see a larger version of the block. I hope readers enjoy it.

I think I am a little tired of the quieter colours and am itching to break out into some brighter more jewel tone colour schemes but unfortunately this quilt is mainly muted colour schemes. Maybe  I need to make a bag or a purse of something!
