I thought people might want to see a floral feature I have used on one of my blocks. It is made up of both textured embroidery and silk ribbon embroidery. The Silk ribbon flowers are created using 7 mm Silk ribbon using Japanese Ribbon stitch. I don’t have directions to work this stitch online. It is on my to do list but you can find directions for Ribbon Stitch here. The centres are French knots with straight stitch radiating from the middle.
The pink textured flowers are made of a hand dyed thread which is the same weight as DMC pearl 5. In a daisy like formation I worked Bullion Knots which have been surrounded with a detached chain stitch. (I have some tips for working bullion stitch here)
Leaves in the motif are detached chain stitch and there are a few buttonhole wheels with a bead stitched in the middle to be spotted and a liberal dose of French knots worked in rayon ribbon floss.
