Pointilism Practice Page

Pointilism Practice Page

Anyone reading yesterdays post will realise that in the stitching class I have students exploring the notion of points. In my class used Pointilism as an example of works based on point. Yesterday Nan of What boggles my Mind discovered the Pointilism Practice Page it is an educational interactive site designed as teaching aid but also fun.

Its worth swinging by and reading the rest of Nans post as there are some great links provided but also her ideas are not staying in the realm of paint but Nan is seeing ‘ponit’ applied in our visual culture and applying these design ideas to textiles.

If you want to see this applied to textiles take a look at the work of quilt artist Rachel Roggel
