I have always delighted in temari balls particularly as Christmas draws near as many crafters here in OZ make them as Christmas decorations for the tree. They are a great way to use up scrap yarn and they make great gifts too! Japanese Temari explains a little about the history of the craft in Japan, and if you want to try this folk craft provided free instructions on how to wrap a temari ball. The site also houses a glossary and don’t miss the gallery
what a delightful link! thanks for posting.

Sharon,
Thanks so much for posting the links to my temari site! I’ve LOVED using your stitch directory for years and browsing through so many inspiring web pages and photos that you share with all of us.
You’re so right that temari make fabulous Christmas ornaments. I’ve been working on some for this year’s gifts. This time, adding beads and some fancy, free embroidery.
Keep up the good work!

Sharon, the web site is lovely, use to do Temari years ago. Used up all me embroidery threads and when I went to work on something I had none left, that was so funny, I kept wondering what I had done with all that thread, Grandson said, ” look at your Temari balls!”
Great links – thank you, Sharon! I love Temari… though I have only played around with the art. The gallery on the site is pretty impressive – beautiful stuff! Thanks again for the link!
