This next section I do not know how to divide into ‘bands ‘ as it is fairly freeform and more of it will appear tomorrow.
This band illustrates experiments with long and short stitch, buttonhole wheel, chain stitch, twisted chain stitch and knotted Creten
Long and short stitch and the buttonhole wheel was worked in a hand dyed superfine merino wool that I purchased from a weavers supplier
Twisted chain stitch and knotted Creten were worked in a hand dyed cotton and silk the same weight and thickness as perle 5 DMC and hand dyed cotton
All threads are hand dyed by me.
This section of the sampler is a dress linen which is not quite an even weave, hand painted with procion cold water dyes.
Procion cold water dyes for the cotton, wool and silk threads
All samples are 15 cm (6 inches) wide and stitched together in one long band sampler.
Sampler FAQ and back story

All posts in the series are in the category the Love of Stitching Band Sampler.
This looks fantastic, I love the free form approach you’ve taken here.
The RSS feeds are all in the side bar under subscribe – just choose the Pin Tangle one for the regular posts
I hope this answers your question
Sharon-could you tell me how to subscribe to the Pin Tangle RSS.
A friend is letting me know when you have posted something but it would be so much easier if I could do it myself. When I click on the Pin Tangle RSS in the rifht hand side of this blog page, all I get is a pay with all kinds of jibberish. If you could help, I’d appreciate it. Thanks, Anita email@example.com
