This embroidered seam detail is on block 60 of the I Dropped the Button Box Quilt. It consists of a row of herringbone further embellished with arrow stitch both worked in perle #5 thread, then I added seed beads.
What is the story?

Free Crazy quilt block patterns
In the process of documenting the seam decorations on this quilt, as I get to each block I am diagramming it out for readers as a free crazy quilt pattern. Links to these free pattern pages are listed on the CQ details FAQ page.
Hi Sharon. Is this image reversed or is the herringbone stitch done left handed? I keep looking at it and can’t decide how you’ve done this stitch. Just a small query… Cheers, Carole in the UK
Carole I would have turned to block to work it and then later photographed the block right way up on the quilt.
Duh! Now it makes a whole lot of sense. I really should start thinking outside the box!! Thanks Sharon.
