This week some people had trouble with Up and Down buttonhole stitch but others found it interesting and enjoyed it. Once again I took far too long trying to decided what samples to feature. If these wet your appetite follow some of the links in the comments, on week 28 as there is many more interesting explorations of this stitch to be seen.
First up I want to encourage you over to visit Fat-quarter as Annet has illustrated some interesting varieties in her samples. One variety crossed up and down buttonhole is a documented variety but I am sure Annet re-discovered this variety herself and she has photographed how she did it.
Over on Pierres Papiers Ciseaux you can see this stitch worked on a curve. Visit for other close details.
Over on Brodibidouillages et Compagnie there are also some very interesting experiments with this stitch, worked in different threads and used to couch threads tot he surface has produced some very interesting results so don’t miss it.
Valerie L over on Can the Leopard Change her Spots has worked a sample of felt using a variety of yarn.
Finally this piece by Crazypatch reminded me of spring. It is mid winter in Australia and it has been the coldest in years, so it made me feel warm!
Hope you have enjoyed the featured samples this week.
