Stitch 18 for Take a Stitch Tuesday is Half Chevron stitch which is an interesting variety as it consists of Half Chevron stitch is is actually Half Chevron Stitch and Half Cretan Stitch both have been in the TAST challenge but if you need a reminder of which is which follow the links for a bit of refresher.

This stitch is fun as a simple border or you can work it row upon row to create a filling pattern. It will also follow a curve and you can use it to couch down threads. Of course for crazy quilters it is fun foundation stitch to embellish seams and you can add beads to it easily.

How to join in on the Take a Stitch Tuesday challenge

All stitchers a free to join the challenge and all levels of skill are welcome.
If you are new to hand embroidery the challenge is to learn the stitches. If you are an experienced embroiderer push these stitches in creative manner and share with beginners what can be done with a little imagination.

Where to share

Stitch a sample, photograph it, put in online on your blog, flickr site, share it on facebook or where ever you hang out online, and leave a comment on the Half Chevron stitch page with your full web address. Don’t forget the http bit of the web address so that your address becomes a live link so that people can visit your site and see what you have done.
