TAST Stitch 56

TAST Stitch 56 is Lock stitch which on its own can be a bit pedestrian (some of my readers might want to make me take back my words on that one …)  but double lock makes a very nice border or seam for crazy quilting.

If you bead Lock stitch it really comes alive! Infact I think beaded it is a wonderful stitch. Anyway that is the challenge this week here is the tutorial for Lock stitch and Double Lock stitch and here is the Tutorial for Beaded lock stitch

If you are new to hand embroidery the challenge is to learn the stitch. If you are an experienced embroiderer push these stitches in creative manner and share with beginners so they can see what can be done with a little imagination.

Where to share

Stitch a sample, photograph it, put in online on your blog, flickr site, share it on facebook or where ever you hang out online, and leave a comment on the Lock stitch page with your full web address. Don’t forget the http bit of the web address so that your address becomes a live link so that people can visit your site and see what you have done. Please spread the word about Take a Stitch Tuesday on your social networks.

Feel free to join the  TAST facebook group.  If you are a hashtag type person use the hashtag #TASTembroidery and #PintangleTAST on places like Instagram etc. The challenge guidelines are on the TAST FAQ page. All stitchers a free to join the challenge and all levels of skill are welcome
