If you go to the Old Sturbridge Village site and investigate their Online Database (in the Collections section found via the side bar) you will discover that they have listed 70 items in their Sampler and needlework collection. There are some great samplers. Each illustration is accompanied by a good description with thread count of the fabric noted, the stitches used to create them are listed and fibre composition stated.
The same site also houses illustrations of 95 quilts which include whole cloth chintz, whitework and pieced quilts. Costumers don’t miss the clothing collections as each garment is fully described and illustrated.
I am pleased it is an interesting reference for people. I find samplers fascinating and spend hours looking at them
Thanks very much for posting this Sharon…A wonderful reference.
I’m also enjoying your 100 details posts.
