100 details for 100 days Day 50

Day 50

I feel I need a drum roll to indicate that this is an exciting moment as this post marks the half way mark in the series. I had no idea when I thought of doing it that this series would prove so popular, but it has so without further ado here is today’s detail.

A foundation row of Chevron stitch worked in DMC pearl 5 thread, started off this seam embellishment. I then worked straight stitches in a different coloured silk thread of the same weight between the V sections of the chevron at the base of the row. At the top of these I stitched a seed bead. At the base of these stitches I added a heart shaped novelty bead tucked upside down in the V.

Above the seam of stiches I stitched a row of buttons and from the middle of each button I worked a loop of seed beads. They draw the eye to that corner of the block and are a bit different as the treatment is a little unexpected. This is the 8 inch block it comes from.

Pam Kellogg of Kitty & Me Designs is back with a free pattern for a rose which can be used a motif on a crazy quilt project.

Annie Whitsed of Annies Crazy World has featured the Southern Cross on a Crazy quilt block. Now why didn’t I think of that?

Julia (aka Ribbonwiz) Camille’s Place has highlighted some beadwork.

Debbie of Needle Lil More Time to Sew has featured a crocheted basket filled with ribbon embroidery.

Rissa of Rissas Pieces is talking about the difference between blanket stitch and buttonhole stitch.

Connie of The Scoop, Score and Deal has featured her latest detail of feather stitch.

June of Grandma Ziki’s Stitching has featured her interpretation of a chevron stitch embellishment.
