100 details for 100 days Day 55

Day 55

This embroidered seam embellishment started as a row of buttonhole stitch worked in DMC pearl 8 thread.

At the base I worked a series of straight stitches worked in 2 strands of DMC floss. These were topped off with a Oyster stitch worked in the same floss. Between the oyster stitch and the straight stitch I used a small seed bead.

On the top side of the row of buttonhole I used a bugle bead. From both sides of the bead, I arranged 4 detached chain stitches and added another a fifth at the top. This was worked in one of my hand dyed threads which is approximately the same thickness as DMC pearl 12.
