100 details for 100 days Day 59

Day 59

This small detail on a crazy quilt block is worked along the side of a wide ribbon. On one side I worked two rows of Herringbone stitch on top of each other. One row is thin and the other fat and both rows are tied at the cross with a little straight stitch.

Alternating along the top of of the fat row is some novelty beads, which are in the shape of a butterfly. These are placed between some lace floral motifs. Actually they are floral motifs that have been cut in half as I wanted them to be really small. They came from a larger strip of lace.

Inside the petal shape I stitched a seed bead. Between each petal I worked a straight stitch and topped it with a seed bead.

On the other side of the ribbon I worked a row of buttonhole stitch and used the same trick of using small lace motifs. These flowers have a seed bead in the middle and that is it. Threads used on this embellishment are all the same weight as DMC pearl 8.

Annie’s miniatures are always a delight. Today she has featured one of my favourites. A tiny pair of rubber thongs.

Pam Kellogg of Kitty & Me Designs has published another peacock design from Gina’s collection.

Debbie of Needle Lil More Time to Sew has featured the final detail from her Ribbons and Roses block.

Gail of Big Horn Mountain Creations has started to feature seam treatments on her crazy quilt block in her new blog.

Murial too has been working on her block and posted more close ups on her flickr account

To wrap up Rissa has some very good comments about sharing.

For anyone just swinging by this series of posts are listed under 100 details for 100 days in this blog. Over on Flickr it is associated with the Crazyquilting Group and photos are tagged 100detailsin100days
