This seam embellishment looks a little complicated but it is not. It is a row of Herringbone worked in a thread the same weight as DMC pearl 5.
This row was then interlaced with silk ribbon. The lacing pattern is the same technique used in Twisted lattice band.
Above the row is a series of detached chain stitches which were worked in DMC pearl 5.
Above these I used Fly Stitch but a bugle bead is threaded on to the tie on the fly as it was worked.
The daily round up of who has been joining in on this series includes is as follows
Annie Whitsed of Annies Crazy World has featured some more details from her red brides maid dress
Debbie of Needle Lil More Time to Sew has featured a crane she has worked on a crazy quilted project
Pam Kellogg of Kitty & Me Designs has published another fabric sheet that can be printed using your printer and bubble jet set
This is indirectly related but Linda of Chloe’s Place has completed her mirror block. Do take a look at the many varieties of buttonhole she has used around the edge of the block
Also on a slightly different topic don’t forget that Maureen of Kenmaurs corner is featuring a daily series on fabric postcards.
For anyone who has been following this series you may be interested in the online classes I announced last week.
