This detail is an embellishment for Rick Rack.
First the Rick Rack was attached over the seam with small stitches to hold it in place while the embroidery was being worked.
Over the braid a series of single detached chain stitches were worked on an angle using DMC pearl 5 thread. Between the V formations I stitched a small seed bead.
On one side of the braid I stitched a single detached chain with a straight stitch placed on either side. Next I added two bugle beads and topped the embellishment off with seed beads.
Pam Kellogg of Kitty & Me Designs has also caught the paisley bug as she has published a free design of you guessed it a paisley. (I like the twiggy bits at the top)
