100 details for 100 days Day 77

Day77
Today I am featuring two seam embellishments in the 100 details for a 100 days series. The first is actually very simple as it is three straight stitches arranged at different angles. I then added three detached chain stitches in the same thread, DMC pearl thread 5. Beads finnished off the embellishment.

The second seam embellishment is a row of half buttonhole wheels worked in DMC pearl thread 5. Each half wheel is flipped from side to side.

Annie Whitsed of Annies Crazy World has also featured what can be done with parts of a buttonhole wheel as she has them stitched in a shell formation. Annie has also demonstrated how she cleans her crazy quilts.

Murial has also featured some buttonhole wheels. These are really delicate so do check them out.

Gail of Big Horn Mountain Creations has featured a detail on her block.

Pat Winter of Gatherings has published directions on how to make a spiderweb rose.

Debbie of Needle Lil More Time to Sew has featured a battenburg doily used on a crazy quilt block.

Rissa has generously published a second smaller alphabet for anyone to use. Do thank her for the freebie as when designers do this it is extremely generous of them and its nice to get feedback.

Indirectly related but of interest, over on the stitching post blog is a paisley challenge. This blog is part of the stitching post yahoo group which is for those who are interested in hand embroidery might be interested in. It’s a friendly group which welcomes beginners and advanced stitchers alike.
