For the Love of Stitching Sampler – Band 19

This band consists of 3 rows of stitches the first being Cretan stitch worked tightly together, the row is  chain stitch and the last row is Satin stitch worked in straight line

The first row is a hand dyed perle cotton, size 5. The second row is a hand dyed cotton which is crochet thread and the third row is hand dyed silk. All embroidery threads are hand dyed by me.

This section of the sampler is worked on tea towel linen which is not quite an even weave.

Procion cold water dyes for both the cotton and silk threads

All samples are 15 cm (6 inches) wide and stitched together in one long band sampler.

At the time of writing the sampler is currently 44 ft 5 inches or 533 inches (1353.83 centimetres) or 14.8 yards  (13.53 metres) long and still being added to.

This section of the sampler is dated 1996 – Jan 1998
