To all my Aussie readers Happy Australia Day! I will have the camera in hand taking photos after such a positive response to yesterdays post about documenting the I dropped the button box crazy quilt.
On with todays band.
Stitches:
This band illustrates fly stitch which has been tied off with a French knot. When you do that it becomes a stitch known as Italian border stitch.
Thread:
Hand dyed (by me) rayon ribbon floss.
Fabric:
This section of the sampler is worked on tea towel linen which is not quite an even weave.
Dyes:
Procion cold water dyes
Size:
All samples are 15 cm (6 inches) wide and stitched together in one long band sampler.
The sampler is currently 44 ft 5 inches or 533 inches (1353.83 centimetres) or 14.8 yards (13.53 metres) long and still being added to.
Date:
This section of the sampler is dated 1996 – Jan 1998
