For the Love of Stitching Sampler – Band 122

For the Love of Stitching Sampler – Band 122

This band of stitching is similar to band 121 except it is created by working two lines of  herringbone stitch

The first row (yellow) is a perle thread #8 and the second orange row is a  hand dyed mercerised cotton

This section of my sampler is worked on cream  dress linen

Procion cold water dyes for cotton thread.

All samples are 15 cm (6 inches) wide and stitched together in one long band sampler.

The sampler is currently 44 ft 5 inches or 533 inches (1353.83 centimetres) or 14.8 yards  (13.53 metres) long and still being added to.

I started this sampler in 2004 and completed it early  2005.

  1. This one is great!! I just received a package of different weights of the Kreinik metallics, with different "finishes" – from low profile "gleam" to sparkle. I’m going to try out this effect, combining different threads along with the metallics in different thicknesses – should keep me busy for a while. Thanks! Surface enhancement on needlepoint is a challenge!
