For the Love of Stitching Sampler – Band 153

This first band of stitching on section 11 is quite boring! My name is created using  back stitch, which is then surrounded with cross stitch. On either side I worked a pattern of diagonal  straight stitches in blocks. This stitch is often worked in canvas work or needlepoint projects.

A hand dyed soft Danish cotton which feels and works up in a similar way to coton a broder. It is has no sheen and is approximately the same thickness and weight as perle 12

A hand dyed wool which is about the same weight as Appletons

This section of my sampler is worked on Aida

Procion cold water dyes for the threads

All samples are 15 cm (6 inches) wide and stitched together in one long band sampler.

The sampler is currently 44 ft 5 inches or 533 inches (1353.83 centimetres) or 14.8 yards  (13.53 metres) long and still being added to.

I started this section of the sampler was finished in November 2005.
