I have been a bit a miss as my work in progress reports but I do have another completed crazy quilt block for my lace quilt.
I know it’s been a slow build to this quilt but life gets busy and I plan to get a move on with it, particularly after writing the next class. I really do have to get back in the swing of these work in progress reports as writing them each week does keep me focused.
A little of the back story
Why the lace quilt? Last November I was given a gift of lace “towards my next quilt” from Margaret Roberts a warm generous woman. Since last November I have made up a number of 7 inch blocks and incorporated along the way not only Margaret’s lace but other lace I had on hand too. I also received another gift from another friend Marilyn and some of her lace has been included too.
One thing I learnt when I made up these blocks it has become a habit to carefully using vintage lace I really was quite unconsciously mean with the precious lace! I will have to splash it about a lot more or make 3-4 quilts with it!

Sharon, this is so pretty. Isn’t it funny, but I ‘recognize’ pieces you’ve used, and laces. Love the thread in the extended feather stitch. Did you dye that yourself?? Oh, and my favourite buttons too, couldn’t help but say something.
