Introducing Section 27 of the For Love of Stitching Band Sampler

needlework sampler of hand embroidery

Band 368 was the end of section 26. My band sampler still goes on however, so I hope people are still enjoying it. I must admit that I am still enjoying documenting it and writing the series has had the effect of me working even more on it.

Section 26 was finished in November 2007 and in January 2008 I listed this as WISP (Work in Slow Progress) and in a week or so finished it.

This is worked on 27cnt quaker cloth which is an even weave fabric. Many of the threads in this section were hand dyed by me using procion dyes. On a quick glance I would say most of them are cotton.

Please note

In this series of small articles, I do not be discuss or cover aspects of design as often these are what I teach in my classes.  I do not duplicate what is on my blog in my classes. Some of the bands in sampler are used to illustrate points I make in the class. Since many of my classes are about applying design, these bands taken out of context do not, I feel give away the contents of the class.

Size:

The For Love of Stitching Band Sampler is 15 cm (6 inches) wide. It consists of different strips of fabric which are are stitched together to form one long strip. It currently measures 24.8 yards or 22.75 metres long and I have more bands to add.
