This band which is part of section 30 on the For Love of Stitching band sampler .
The is pattern created by first working two lines of buttonhole stitch with the arms at different heights to make triangular formations along the line. In the peaks and valleys I have added a small flower motif. Seed beads were added to the centre of the little apricot flowers made of detached chain stitch (lazy daisy stitch)
The apricot flowers are wool and the buttonhole is worked in a thread which is 50% wool and 50% silk
26 cnt linen
The For Love of Stitching Band Sampler is 15 cm (6 inches) wide. It consists of different strips of fabric which are are stitched together to form one long strip. It currently measures 24.8 yards or 22.75 metres long and I have more bands to add.
