Detail 647 on my Freeform Band Sampler

Needlework Sampler band 647I have 2  bands on my needlework sampler to share with readers today.

Just to jog peoples memory this is section 48 of my band sampler which you can read about further if you follow the link

Regular readers will remember that  I had patch worked together different foundation fabrics to use on this section of the sampler.

Thread, Fabric and Stitches Used on detail 647:

These two bands are half way the sampler worked on on a piece of hand dyed Aida cloth.

The top and bottom band are made using up and down buttonhole stitch worked in hand dyed #5 cotton perle. The seed beads have a ring of back stitches around them and the yellow cross stitches are worked in wool.

The middle band is worked in buttonhole using silk thread which I hand dyed. I use procion dyes for all my threads. In the middle is seed and bugle beads and cross stitches.

So both bands are made of simple stitches arranged in a pattern.

This section of the sampler was worked January 2010.

Size:

This area is a section in my  Love of Stitching Band Sampler which is 15 cm (6 inches) wide and currently measures 96 feet 5 inches (2,938.78 centimetres), or  32.138 yards which is 29.3878 meters. It is still growing…and is all hand stitched
