Beyond TAST Week 8

For those who have done TAST before or if you already know the basic embroidery stitches, then I suggest you join in on the Beyond TAST which this year will run concurrently with TAST see the TAST FAQ for more details.

Twisted lattice band week 8

For week 8 of Beyond TAST,  I am suggesting readers experiment with  Twisted Lattice Band.  You can use this stitch as a border, or work it row upon row to form a filler. Since it is a stitch that is laced, you can create some great effects by working with contrasting threads. Visit the  Twisted Lattice Band tutorial, to see how it’s done and have fun exploring the stitch.

How to join TAST and where to share your week 8 samples

If you are new to hand embroidery the challenge is to learn the stitch and share what you have learned. If you are an experienced embroiderer, enjoy Beyond TAST and give your work a modern twist. And of course, share it online so beginners can see what can be done with a little imagination.

Stitch a sample, photograph it, put it online on your blog, or share it in the Take a Stitch Tuesday Flickr group, or in the TAST facebook group or where ever you hang out online. Hashtags are #TASTembroidery and #PintangleTAST on places like Instagram etc. If you have a blog leave a comment on the stitch page. In other words, either the running stitch page or if you doing Beyond TAST the Twisted Lattice Band page. Don’t forget your full web address, including the HTTP part of the web address so that it becomes a live link. It means people can visit your site and see what you have done.

If you need more information the challenge guidelines are on the TAST FAQ page.
