Today I have two details from section 50 on my Love of Stitching Band Sampler
Stitches Used
This detail is a battlement type pattern stitched in back stitch using hand dyed #8 cotton perle worked row upon row. Then between the rows I added lines of tied herringbone. The herringbone is worked in wool and the ties are cotton. The fabric is hand dyed linen.
The next little detail is journal like in nature as it records that my daughter Eve came home as she was working at the national Folk Festival. The little charm was tied to chocolate rabbit she gave me.
The fabric aida and the back stitched lettering is worked in cotton thread.

This section of the sampler was worked between March and May 2010.

I like this design very much. The back stitching adds something extra to the look of the herringbone.
