Science Daily has published an interesting article that scientifically proves theories about using compositional devices to guide the viewers eye around an image.
Eye tracking studies have proved how great painters like Rembrandt engage and guide the eye of the viewer around a painting literally taking us on a visual journey.
Of course composition theory is not only used by painters but quilters can apply it too, including crazy quilters. As my crazy quilting students know it is one of the key things I teach.
Pop over and read Researcher Decodes Rembrandt’s ‘Magic’ as I think you will find it interesting (It’s not too long or too academic I promise!)
That was a very interesting article and a major surf page for me!
I was soooooooooo delighted with this post because this is a crusade with me on my blog… I’m always referring to ways to "move the eye"… Hooray!!! Gerry
