The first row of stitching band (which is not wobbly just photographed that way!) is a line of a stitch listed as Eastern stitch on page 224 of Complete Guide to Embroidery Stitches (Reader’s Digest)
The second row is Sorbello stitch. I wanted to see what they looked like side by side but decided the wool was not going to show it up, so I left it be. I did not rip it out as records of things that don’t quite work are as important as things that do.

All samples are 15 cm (6 inches) wide and stitched together in one long band sampler.
The sampler is currently 44 ft 5 inches or 533 inches (1353.83 centimetres) or 14.8 yards (13.53 metres) long and still being added to.
