These are the last two rows of this section of the band sampler. The first row is a type of buttonhole called rosette of thorns. The second row is a type of chain stitch which is reversed chain stitch.
Thread:
The rosette of thorns stitch is worked in superfine merino wool which has been hand dyed by me. the reverse chain stitch is worked in a hand dyed cotton (crochet thread) which is about the same thickness and weight as perle #5 thread.
Fabric:
This section of the sampler is worked on tea towel linen which is not quite an even weave.

Size:
All samples are 15 cm (6 inches) wide and stitched together in one long band sampler.
The sampler is currently 44 ft 5 inches or 533 inches (1353.83 centimetres) or 14.8 yards (13.53 metres) long and still being added to.
