Now I have never thought of using a visual journal in this way although I am sure I have done it as when taking a photo like this I usually use a piece of A4 paper and I know if my visual journal was lying on the table I would simply open it to a clean page and take a photograph.
What am I talking about in How to take and edit professional looking photos of your craft products Lisa Lam uses a visual journal as a backdrop. Check out the tutorial to see what I mean. The tutorial gives step by step directions on how to take a photograph and then tidy it up in Photoshop. I am sure there are many boggers out there that will find this useful.
