This week for Take a Stitch Tuesday the challenge is learn or experiment with Cretan Stitch. I hope readers following this series click through to the instruction each week as I have been rewriting them and more importantly adding lots of eye candy to give people ideas on how to use the stitch. As I have mentioned before I am in the process of shifting my stitch dictionary over to this site and these instructional pages I am updating each week will become part of it.
Cretan stitch is another of those key stitches people learn when they are new to hand embroidery. As I have said before the first 15 weeks or so of TAST is a effectively an embroidery course suitable for beginners to take so I hope those readers who are attempting this stitch for the first time enjoy it and discover its versatility.
