Take a Stitch Tuesday Stitch 41 is Eastern stitch. This stitch is often seen worked in regular patterns as worked small over a few threads it works on any grid so it is easy to adapt cross stitch patterns and use Eastern stitch instead. It also makes a great filler and I have seen Eastern stitch as it is worked row upon row. Because as a stitch each unit will sit neatly within a square you can also use it in canvas work too. The beaded version is the same because it fits into a square it will sit on grid well making developing your own patterns fun and easy.
TAST stitch 41 this stitch is made up of units you can turn the direction of the stitch to create other types of patterns too. This sample is worked on Aida using hand dyed cotton perle thread. I turned each stitch and elongated the stitch a little, and worked blocks of 4 stitches to create little motifs that can be used to form a pattern. It was very easy and very quick.
