Welcome back to TAST 2017 everybody! I am here to announce TAST stitch 69 but before I do hope everyone enjoyed the holidays and had time over the break to do some stitching. I also my readers enjoy the challenge stitches I propose in TAST this year.
TAST was first started in 2007 which means I have been running this stitchers challenge for a decade. I can’t quite believe it as it is pretty amazing to have anything on the internet run so long. You would think that I would be tired of running it by now but although I have had my moments, I see it very much as a positive activity in my life. I genuinely enjoy seeing what people do with the stitch of the week and get a tremendous thrill out of seeing how creative people are. I get a real kick out of it. I feel that watching creativity and skills develop re-enforces a good aspect of being human. TAST also touches an aspect of my personality which likes to share skills and knowledge it’s a ‘teaching me’. These factors are probably the reason the challenge is still fun and hopefully is enjoyable for my readers.
Pintangle (or is forerunner) started in January 2004 which means this blog is now 13 years old, the up keep of the site would have long petered out if there was not a genuine love of stitching and all things fibre. Not only do I love the topic but I also love to share my discoveries and explorations in this field. I hope my readers enjoy this and some of the enthusiasm rubs off a little bit too!
Anyway enough of the waffle … time to announce TAST stitch 69 which is drum roll … The stitch this week is called Magic Chain or some books call it Checkered Chain. It’s great fun to do which is why I chose it for the first stitch of the year. You will find a tutorial for magic Chain stitch here. I hope people have fun with it and you don’t get into too many tangles
