This is the first week of a 2 week break to Take a Stitch Tuesday (TAST) This allows people to catch up with their stitching. If you do not need to catch up I have a challenge for you!
In the next 2 weeks your challenge, is to use any 3 TAST stitches in a small project. Use the stitches you choose creatively and share them. These stitches can be used in any project. The stitches chosen can be basic stitches or fancy stitches, they just need to be on the current TAST list. ( If you need the list of TAST stitches you will find them here)
You have two weeks to work this project so dont choose a project that is bigger than Ben Hur. I suggest that you keep the size of the project modest unless you are already working on something that fits the criteria.
For a bit of inspiration I thought I would share a project I did a while back. You do not need to make something in my heavily encrusted style or a project as large as this or make something as time consuming but you do have 2 weeks.
I thought people would like to see a detail of the hand embroidery and beads. Here you can see I have used Buttonhole wheels, Bullion Knots, Whipped Wheels, French Knots, Cast on stitch, and Buttonhole Wheel Cups. I used a mix of threads most of which are cotton perle #5 and #8. The beads were all chosen for a natural finish to echo the natural design. The beads are made of wood and shell and are unpolished. If you want more see this series of articles to read about how designed and stitched this project.
