Take a Stitch Tuesday Stitch 100

Drizzle stitch sample Take a Stitch Tuesday Stitch 100 Take a Stitch Tuesday Stitch 100 is quite a marker as it is the last stitch in TAST for 2017! Congratulations to everyone who had managed to keep up – or even if you stitched half of the stitches it is quite a feat! For those who tried out a few of the stitches and learnt something new along the way I am pleased you did and hopefully you enjoyed it. For those who are playing catch up don’t worry I know life can get in the way so the TAST Facebook group will stay open and I am happy for people to post photos of what they have done.

What is happening with TAST next year?

Next year TAST will re-run, starting in January. So for people who have not done TAST, or have started and dropped away or have done bits of the challenge and would like to do the full run you have an opportunity to do it. Hopefully in the meanwhile I will have found time to add a few more new stitches to the stitch dictionary and they might be included in the next round.

For those who have done TAST I will be running a new challenge called Beyond TAST. This will be a challenge that takes a style of embroidery, a family of stitches or a design element and pushes it. Beyond TAST will allow people between 4 and 6 weeks to explore a challenge in depth. I am calling this block of time a ‘season’. Beyond TAST hopefully will introduce people to aspects of embroidery and design that they normally would not have explored or wanted to explore and never had time for it! I think it will be fun, interesting and inspirationsal. Ask questions below or on the TAST facebook group if you have them.

Ok with all the announcements out of the way- what is the final stitch? Drum roll… Drizzle stitch! I chose drizzle stitch because it is such a fun little stitch. People can not help but touch and smile when they see it. What is is good for? It is used in Brazilian embroidery for the centre of flowers – but it also makes for wonderful seaweed like growths in marine images. For me this is the most fun stitch so I thought it a good one to go out on – have fun with Drizzle stitch

As Usual you can find a tutorial for Drizzle stitch in my Stitch Dictionary.
