Virginia A. Spiegel dropped me an email to let me know that she has some new work up in her gallery. Those who mix fiber and paper will find her whole site interesting. Virginia Spiegel is a mixed media and textile artist who has an extensive and ever expanding gallery section on her site.
Also while you are on the site don’t miss looking at the fiber postcard eye candy. I did highlight this site last year but it is well worth browsing again. Fiberart For A Cause was as a fundraiser was run last year with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. The brief was to produce a mailable fiber postcard (4 x 6 ) which was suitable for framing. The site houses more than 350 fiberart postcards created for the cause. I said there was eyecandy – get yourself a cuppa settle down and take a look.
If you want to be involved with this years fundraiser the details for 2006 fundraiser are also on the site. I think one of the reasons fundraisers like this are so successful is that there are no restrictions on style/content of the fiberart postcards. The deadline for this is March 15, 2006.
I am an avid reader of your blog and have at last been brave enough to start my own blog. I am a textile artist using the computer for designing and I have written articles for The world of Embroidery, Stitch and The Computer Textile Group IT magazines. I love all types of textile art.
I have just checked the links they are fine now – perhaps thier server was down for a little while
I’ve been enjoying the references to the LCD site. BUT, the Fiberarts for a Cause link doesn’t seem to be working this morning; just wanted to let you know.
I’m proud to have participated in that—and boy is the sight of all those little gems a feast for inspiration!
I check your blog everyday and enjoy the diversity of links you provide. If you’re interested in another site on art (nothing to do with textile) maybe take a gander at GrannArtInc.com
Jane Grann has a lot of her own work posted and some beautiful work from others. Just click on artists on the home page.
Hope you enjoy some eyecandy from Northwestern Ontario, Canada.
