Stitches:
This band consists of 3 rows of stitches the first being Cretan stitch worked tightly together, the row is chain stitch and the last row is Satin stitch worked in straight line
Thread:
The first row is a hand dyed perle cotton, size 5. The second row is a hand dyed cotton which is crochet thread and the third row is hand dyed silk. All embroidery threads are hand dyed by me.
Fabric:
This section of the sampler is worked on tea towel linen which is not quite an even weave.
Dyes:
Procion cold water dyes for both the cotton and silk threads
Size:
All samples are 15 cm (6 inches) wide and stitched together in one long band sampler.
At the time of writing the sampler is currently 44 ft 5 inches or 533 inches (1353.83 centimetres) or 14.8 yards (13.53 metres) long and still being added to.
