This is the way I embellished the edge of the lace that decorates a seam. The seam is embellished with threaded running stitch. The edge of the lace is covered with a row of twisted chain stitch and I have added some detached chain stitch spaced along the top of the lace.
The foundation row of running stitch was worked in DMC perle thread #8 and it was threaded with a cotton textured knitting yarn.
The twisted chain and detached chain on the lace was worked in rayon ribbon floss.
