Stitches:
This seam is embellished with a line of feathered up and down buttonhole stitch. The first row holds down a ribbon the second is along the seam. Then I have covered it with a cluster of buttons.
Thread:
DMC perle thread#5.
Placement and Foundation Fabric:
This seam is between piece 6 and pieces 1 and 2 on the diagram of block 11. In the same post I wrote about the fabrics I used on the block.
Type of trim
This ribbon was purchased in Liberties of London when I was living there.
Buttons
Vintage and modern buttons were used.
Beads:
Small beads were used to embellish the arms of the feathered up and down buttonhole
