For the Love of Stitching Sampler band 551

hand embroidery sampler detail This area is part of section 38 on the For Love of Stitching band sampler. As I explained when I introduced this section I created the sampler after the Victorian fires.  This band is adapted from a traditional blackwork leaf pattern. In the Canberra 2003 fires blackened leaves fell from sky all over the city and I assumed that in Victoria it would be the same.

  1. Yes, I remember those black leaves falling from the Canberra sky, and I can tell you it was the same here in Victoria. I am afraid to move anywhere else in case it follows me again; not that we have been directly injured by either, but being on the edges is painful in its own way.
