This area is part of section 38 on the For Love of Stitching band sampler. As I explained when I introduced this section I created the sampler after the Victorian fires. This band is adapted from a traditional blackwork leaf pattern. In the Canberra 2003 fires blackened leaves fell from sky all over the city and I assumed that in Victoria it would be the same.
The For Love of Stitching Band Sampler is 15 cm (6 inches) wide. It consists of different strips of fabric which are are stitched together to form one long strip. It currently measures 24.8 yards or 22.75 metres long and I have more bands to add.

Yes, I remember those black leaves falling from the Canberra sky, and I can tell you it was the same here in Victoria. I am afraid to move anywhere else in case it follows me again; not that we have been directly injured by either, but being on the edges is painful in its own way.
