This area is part of section 38 on the For Love of Stitching band sampler. As I explained when I introduced this section the sampler was stitched after the Victorian fires. This band is adapted from a traditional blackwork pattern. Many people tragically lost their lives in these fires. I think the pattern speaks.
Size:
The For Love of Stitching Band Sampler is 15 cm (6 inches) wide. It consists of different strips of fabric which are are stitched together to form one long strip. It currently measures 24.8 yards or 22.75 metres long and I have more bands to add.

It’s beautiful, Sharon. Elegant and simple, and very poignant.
This is a clever variation, as well as a moving tribute. I immediately thought of wrought iron. I really like this whole section of the sampler.
I like this pattern of the sampler. Thank you.

Unfortunately, I am unable to scroll down the TAST French Knot page, so I’ll just post here that I finally finished my french knots. You can see the sample at http://theshopsaampler.wordpress.com. The title of the post is “It Started On I-65.” Look forward to 100 comments! (lol)
Julie – just a quick little tip. If you go to the TAST FAQ page in the top tab you find a list of links at the bottom of that page that lists all the TAST stitches.
