Take a Stitch Tuesday Week 7 Basic TAST

This week’s basic stitch is very simple and very useful. I am encouraging people to learn and use Seed stitch also known as seed filling. It is very quick and easy and ideal to incorporate in modern embroidery. I think people will enjoy it.

Take a Stitch Tuesday Week 7 Beyond TAST

I am going to propose another simple stitch for those who are doing beyond TAST. It is the double version of seed stitch which has the exciting name of Double seed stitch. It is a quick and easy filling stitch that combines well with projects that have a free-form feel to it. Ideal for slow stitching and to fill areas where you want some texture.

If you are new to hand embroidery the challenge is to learn the stitch and share what you have learned. If you are an experienced embroiderer, enjoy Beyond TAST and give your work a modern twist. And of course, share it online so beginners can see what can be done with a little imagination.

Where to Share

If you are doing the design challenge you have a month to work on your design and stitch it up.

So the idea is to stitch a sample, photograph it, share it in the Take a Stitch Tuesday facebook group, or use the hashtags #TASTembroidery and #PintangleTAST on Instagram.

If you need more information the challenge guidelines are on the TAST FAQ page.
