On youtube this week I share my Autumnal slow stitch roll. In the video I discuss what stitches I used and how I made it. I worked the Autumnal slow stitch roll as I was writing my latest book so it hold many samples of the stitches found in the book.

I had a lot of fun with this project and I find that his format can be a spring board for all sorts of other creative ideas. So much so, that it has provoked thoughts of doing an all year roll that progressed through the seasons. It could become a part journal project. I walk in a reserve each morning and I could note on the roll anything of interest that we see. Yes I am thinking of projects for next year already – it might be fun.
Anyway I hope you enjoy Autumnal slow stitch roll shared in this small video.

What a treat to watch you show your work and and share your process; it brings your creations to life to a level illustrations, even with text, can’t quite reach. That said, know I have both your books of stitches and cherish them along with everything else you’ve so generously shared over the years. I love everything abour your autumn roll, inspirational eye candy — and beyond. The beyond has to do with your teaching. As I watched you reveal each section I recognized every element of composition you’ve taught us. I thought you’d like to know your students also gain a greater sense of aesthetics and deeper appreciation of design.
Thankyou I am pleased you liked it
