stitch 86 knotted cable chain
Stitch 86 in the Take a Stitch Tuesday stitchers challenge is Knotted Cable Chain. As Usual you can find a tutorial for stitch Knotted Cable Chain in my Stitch Dictionary. Knotted Cable Chain is a textured linear stitch which looks good used in all sorts of ways. You can work the chain in an open looser manner as illustrated here, add a bead or thread ribbon, fine braid or yarn underneath or if you want a textured line work the chain snug around the knot for a knobbly line.

I just got your new book today. Wow! Amazing! You deserve to be proud of this book. So many wonderful inspirational pages. I love to use ric rac in my quilts. So many wonderful new ideals on how to couple ric rac with embroidery. I am an art quilter with a love for embroidery and crazy quilting. Looking forward to doing my first crazy quilted art quilt. Lots of stitches and ideals to draw from. Thank you so much for all the hard work it took to share all these marvelous pearls with us in the new book and all that you make available to us on Pintangle.

When I got home from work last night my copy of your new book was waiting for me. It is delightful and so inspiring! I understand why you are so proud of it. I spent several hours reading and looking at it. I was so excited I could not sleep so I got up and stitched for awhile. I can’t wait to show it to my Crazy Quilt group Saturday morning at our meeting. You have taught and inspired me for several years and it just keeps getting better. Thank you so much. You have help me (and so many others).
