For those who enjoyed the work in progress shots and watching me stitch my Blue and Mauve Slow stitch roll on instagram, I have made a video of the completed roll. I stitched this piece as on it I worked on my latest book – Creative Stitches for Contemporary Embroidery, Volume 2. So it is a sampler of sorts as many of the stitches that I used on the roll I used as samples for the book.

For the book, the stitches were photographed close up and used to illustrate the stitch. My aim is to show people what you could do with the stitch. It hopefully gives people ideas.

Here is a detail of one of the stitches I discovered in the writing of this book. Interlaced Coral stitch will definitely get used more as it looks to me, like a twiggy bobbly weedy thing. In other words it just looks fun. It could easily be incorporated into floral sprays and organic designs. I am looking forward to exploring this stitch more. I really enjoyed stitching this Blue and Mauve slow stitch roll project. The roll itself is a little too long as I kept extending it. It is 3 and half meters long at 356 cms or 140 inches nearly 4 yards long. I loved it so long but to be honest videoing was a bit of challenge as it kept sliding off the edge of the table! The thing is now I want to start another! I have a few of them and they mounting up so I am trying to resist the urge.

Anyway here is the video I hope you enjoy it.
