Laced Back Stitched Herringbone Stitch is a further embellishment on Back Stitched Herringbone which is in turn a variety of Herringbone stitch. The lacing technique is simple and quick to work. You can use embroidery threads to lace this stitch but Laced Back Stitched Herringbone can be very effective if you use thicker novelty threads, yarn, silk ribbon or metallic threads. In fact it is a great way to use them up!

Pass your needle under the first cross bar as illustrated. Make sure you lace and take care not to take your needle through the fabric
Turn your needle and take the lacing thread under the second cross bar as illustrated.
